Cusco - Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu es quizá el ícono mas conocido del Perú. Una vista simplemente espectacular recibe a los visitantes rodeandolos de la energía ancestral que caracteriza este monumento.Sin embargo, no es el único atractivo que tiene el Cusco. Desde la ciudad se toma un tren en la estación Poroy y el viaje dura unas 3 horas. Existen otros destinos igual de encantadores y no tan saturados: Urubamba, el Valle Sagrado de Los Incas, Ollantaytambo, Sacsayhuaman, etc, ofrecen una excelente alternativa y una oferta hotelera del más alto nivel. En posteriores entradas estaré detallando cada uno de estos destinos.
Se llega a Cuzco desde Lima en vuelo de una hora vía Lan, Taca ó Star Perú.Vía terrestre el viaje dura 21 horas desde Lima. Cruz del Sur, Tepsa y Oltursa son buenas opciones.

Machu Picchu is perhaps the best known icon of Peru. How to get: You arrive to Cuzco from Lima in one-hour flight via LAN, Taca or Star Perú. By road, the trip takes 21 hours from Lima. Cruz del Sur, Oltursa and Tepsa are good choices.


Urubamba
Provincia del Cusco, posee enormes e impresionantes andenes incaicos y muros prehispánicos como base de construcciones coloniales. Está atravesada por el río Vilcanota donde se practica Canotaje y Kayak. Es aquí donde se encuentran los principales monumentos arquitectónicos del incanato: Urubamba, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero, Huayllabamba, Marás, Yucay y Machu Picchu.
La oferta hotelera es realmente de lujo. Cuenta con hoteles de 3 y 4 estrellas equipados con spa, sauna, restaurantes de primera, etc.

Cusco Province, has huge and impressive pre-Columbian Inca terraces and walls as the basis of colonial buildings. It is crossed by the Urubamba river, here you can practice canoeing and kayaking. It is here where are the major architectural monuments of the Incas, Urubamba, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero, Huayllabamba, Maras, Yucay and Machu Picchu.
The hotel offer is really fancy. There are  3 and 4 stars hotels with spa, sauna, fine dining, etc.
